Domain and hosting: the 10-minute checklist before we build your website
Your website or store runs on your own hosting under your own domain. Here is exactly what to buy, what it costs, and the three mistakes to avoid.
1. Buy the domain in your own name
Your domain (yourbusiness.com or .pk) is your address on the internet. Register it with your own email and phone number — never let a developer or agency own it for you. Cost: about Rs 3,000–5,000 a year for .com; .pk domains are registered through PKNIC.
2. Any PHP + MySQL hosting works
Our websites and stores run on standard shared hosting. Hostinger, Namecheap, Hostbreak or any Pakistani provider is fine as long as it offers PHP 8 and MySQL. Budget Rs 6,000–10,000 a year. Pick a plan with SSL included (nearly all do now).
3. Send us the login, we do the rest
Once you have hosting, share the hPanel/cPanel login with us. We upload the site, connect the domain, enable SSL, create your business email and set up Google Search Console. You can change the password afterwards.
Three mistakes to avoid
- Buying a “website builder” plan (Wix, Hostinger Website Builder) — those cannot run custom PHP software.
- Letting someone else register the domain.
- Paying for a 4-year plan before the site is even built — one year is enough to start.
